Shadowy Runes

Land of broad shadows
Evening shadows, Sonoran Desert, Southern Arizona

broad the bent shadows
brushed across the wilderness—
ancient holy runes

You show us such beautiful scenery in the desert.

I learned something today, teacher! Never heard of runes.

Have a fun week seeking shadows!

The shadows add a subtle contrast to the hot sky and sand below. This the cooling trent is very near to the heat, a welcome edit to the arid land...

wondrous view!
But I'm confused, runes are letters of the alphabet. Is there another definition?

We just looked it up...magical, mysterious ~ this certainly is!! Thanks for letting us learn today MMT....we can always count on something new from you! We also were having fun spelling "Summer Kitkhen Girls" on the Runes Alphabet as well :)

The way I read these runes, they invite me to a shadowy desert walk.

I love your desert shots - especially as we have had such a soggy summer!

What a lovely photo. My favorite time of day, too. Wish I were there.

Have you ever considered thumbnail linkies? It would be so nice to scan people's contributions on the list instead of just links.

We have considered thumbnail linkies (they are delightful to look at), but we have to pay for the service, so we opted for the free service!

I was a 'zonie' for over a decade, still love the Sonoran Desert Landscape.

PS....besides, I think the thumbnail links are a pain....it throws the visitor to know what to expect instead of the pleasant surprise of what the blogger posted!!! I personally LIKE the TEXT LINK best.

So love your desert images! I never tire of them! This one has the haunting beauty embedded in being alone with the sky and the earth! A great feeling!

I would love to lay under what must be an amazing sky at night, to see the stars ... it would be one of my "bucket list" wishes : )

I need to apologize as when I look through the last few entries of mine I am not seeing the links. My Mozilla Firefox had been crashing on me and it would take numerous attempts at starting over to get anything finished so apparently it was not saved. This time I made sure and I uninstalled Firefox.

I love this meme and have no intention of missing it up. :-)

Blessings, Judy
